Terms of Service

Effective date: 22 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Paras Vyas, an individual sole trader based in Pune, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us", "our"), and cover your use of the Bobbin Chrome extension, Bobbin Pro and getbobbin.app (together, "Bobbin"). By installing, using or buying Bobbin you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Bobbin. If you use Bobbin for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.

Please read section 5 (recording other people) and sections 14 to 17 (warranties, liability and indemnity) carefully. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by contract; see section 16.

1. Who can use Bobbin

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bobbin. If you are below the age of digital consent or majority where you live (for example 16 in some EU countries, or 18 in India), you may use Bobbin only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Purchases must be made by an adult or by a parent or guardian.

2. Free and Pro

Bobbin's free version can be used at no charge, with no watermark, time limit or video limit. Bobbin Pro unlocks extra features with a license key, as listed on our Pricing page, either as a monthly subscription or as a one-time lifetime license. Pro checkout is not open yet; until it is, Pro cannot be bought. Some Pro features, such as drawing on the page, are planned and not yet in the current version; they are marked as coming later. We may add, change or remove features over time, but we will not take away a Pro feature you have paid for during a paid period without offering a fair remedy, such as a pro-rata refund.

3. Your license to use Bobbin

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and use Bobbin for personal or business purposes. For Pro, that license lasts while your subscription is active or, for a lifetime license, for as long as we offer and support Bobbin Pro (see section 12). Bobbin is licensed to you, not sold.

4. What you may not do

You may not, and may not help anyone else to:

• copy, modify, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute Bobbin, or publish it under another name, except as the law expressly allows;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, crack or tamper with Bobbin to get around its licensing or feature limits, except to the extent applicable law permits this despite this restriction;
• share, publish, resell, generate or trade license keys, or use a key you did not obtain from us or an authorised reseller;
• remove or hide any copyright or other notices;
• use Bobbin in breach of any law, or of the terms of the websites, apps or services you record; or
• use Bobbin to harm, harass, threaten, defame, stalk or spy on anyone.

5. Acceptable use: recording other people and other people's content

You alone are responsible for what you record and for what you do with your recordings. Bobbin is a tool. It records only after you press Start and choose what to share, and Chrome shows a sharing indicator while it is recording, but we cannot see or control what you record.

• Get consent before recording people. Many countries and states have laws on recording conversations, calls, video meetings and images of people, including wiretap and eavesdropping laws. Some require that everyone in a conversation consents (for example several US states, such as California), and others restrict recording in private settings. Before you record a call, meeting, class or any other person, you must tell the people involved and obtain every consent that applies where you and they are located. If you are unsure, do not record.
• Respect privacy and data protection laws. If your recordings contain other people's personal data (faces, voices, names, screens), you are responsible for handling it lawfully, including under laws such as the GDPR and India's DPDP Act where they apply to you.
• Respect copyright and other rights. Do not record or share films, TV, streams, music, paid courses, software or other content protected by copyright, trademark or similar rights unless you own it, have permission, or a legal exception (such as fair use or fair dealing) clearly applies. Do not use Bobbin to get around DRM or other technical protection measures.
• Follow the rules of the services you record. Some websites, apps, meeting tools and employers forbid recording. Following them is your responsibility.
• No illegal or harmful content. Do not use Bobbin to create, store or share content that is illegal, sexually exploits anyone, especially minors, records anyone without their knowledge in a way the law forbids, or is used for fraud, blackmail or harassment.

We may suspend or revoke a license used in breach of this section, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

6. Your recordings

You own your recordings, and we claim no rights in them. They are stored only on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy; we never receive them and cannot recover them. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you want to keep (see section 14).

7. Purchases and merchant of record

Pro is sold through Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and authorised reseller. When you buy Pro you buy it from Dodo Payments, and we license it to you under these terms. Dodo Payments handles payment, billing, invoices, receipts and sales tax, VAT or GST, and its Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase. If the Buyer Terms and these terms conflict about payment, billing or tax, the Buyer Terms apply; on everything else, these terms apply. We never see or store your full card details.

Prices are in US dollars and are shown on our Pricing page and at checkout; taxes may be added depending on where you live. The price shown at checkout, including any launch offer, is the price you pay. We may change prices for future purchases or future subscription periods, and will give subscribers notice before a price change applies to their renewal.

8. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

• Monthly Pro renews automatically each month, and Dodo Payments charges your payment method at the start of each period until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time using the link in your receipt or subscription emails from Dodo Payments, or by emailing support@getbobbin.app. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
• If a renewal payment fails, Pro may be paused or stop working until payment succeeds.
• A lifetime license is a one-time payment with no renewals.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. License keys

• Each key is for one person (or, for a business, one named user). It may be active on up to 3 devices at the same time. To move Pro to another device, use "Remove from this device" first, or email us.
• Keys may not be shared, published, resold or transferred without our written permission.
• The extension checks your key with Dodo Payments' license server about once a day. Pro keeps working offline for up to 7 days after a successful check.
• We, or Dodo Payments, may deactivate or revoke a key, without refund where the law allows, if it was refunded, charged back or cancelled; obtained by fraud, with stolen payment details, or through abuse of refunds or chargebacks; shared, published or resold; or used in serious or repeated breach of these terms. Where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to explain. If we revoke a key by mistake, we will restore it.
• Keep your purchase email safe. You will need the key to activate Pro on another device.

10. Updates and compatibility

We may update Bobbin to fix bugs, improve security, add or change features, or comply with Chrome Web Store rules and the law. Chrome may install updates automatically. Bobbin depends on Google Chrome and your operating system and hardware; features such as MP4 output, 4K, 60fps and system audio depend on them and may change when Chrome changes. We will keep Bobbin conforming to its description as the law requires, but we cannot promise it will work on every device or browser version.

11. Third-party services

Bobbin is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, runs in Google Chrome, and uses Dodo Payments for purchases and licensing and Cloudflare for this website. Those services are provided by their own operators under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Google is not a party to these terms.

12. Ending Bobbin

If we ever stop offering Bobbin Pro, we will give at least 30 days' notice on this website and by email to Pro customers where we have their email address. Monthly subscriptions will be cancelled with no further charges, and we will offer a pro-rata refund for any period already paid but not provided. For lifetime licenses, we will try to release a final version that keeps Pro features unlocked without a license check. Your recordings stay on your device either way.

13. Intellectual property and feedback

Bobbin, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Apart from the license in section 3, these terms give you no rights in it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without obligation to you.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bobbin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not guarantee that recordings will be captured, saved or recovered. Recordings live in your browser's storage and can be lost, for example if Chrome or your computer crashes, your disk is full, you clear browsing data or remove the extension, Chrome changes, or a bug occurs. Bobbin's crash recovery reduces this risk but cannot remove it. Download and back up every recording you care about, promptly. Do not rely on Bobbin as the only copy of important material.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of data or recordings, profits, revenue, business, goodwill or opportunity, however it arises, even if we were told it might happen; and
• our total liability for all claims relating to Bobbin or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Bobbin in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) USD 50.

These limits apply whatever the legal theory (contract, tort including negligence, statute or otherwise) and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions or limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

16. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights given to you by the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, including, in the EU and UK, your statutory rights where digital content is faulty or not as described (such as repair, replacement, price reduction or refund), and, in India, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Where these terms conflict with those rights, those rights win. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, we are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, and we are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable.

17. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, damages, fines and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by third parties or authorities that arise from your recordings, your use of Bobbin in breach of these terms, or your breach of any law or of anyone else's rights, including recording someone without required consent or infringing copyright. If you are a consumer, this applies only to the extent the loss was caused by your breach and the law where you live permits it.

18. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Bobbin at any time by removing the extension, and cancel a subscription as described in section 8. We may suspend or end your license, or revoke your key, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if required by law, or as described in section 9. Where reasonable we will give notice and reasons. When your license ends you must stop using Pro features; the free version may continue to work. Sections 4 to 6 and 13 to 21 survive termination.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute about them or Bobbin, are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the next sentence, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra, India have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law gives you that right; consumers in the EU and UK may also use their national consumer dispute bodies. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to Bobbin, our business or the law. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects you, we will give at least 14 days' notice before it takes effect, on this website and by email to Pro customers where we have their email address. Changes do not apply retroactively. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using Bobbin and cancel your subscription before it takes effect; continuing to use Bobbin after that means you accept the change.

21. General

• Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and, for purchases, Dodo Payments' Buyer Terms, are the whole agreement between you and us about Bobbin and replace any earlier terms.
• Severability. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent needed, and the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer them to someone who takes over Bobbin, provided your rights are not reduced.
• Events beyond control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages of Chrome, Dodo Payments or Cloudflare.
• Compliance. You must not use or buy Bobbin where doing so would breach applicable export control or sanctions laws.
• Language and notices. These terms are written in English. We may send notices to the email address you gave at checkout or post them on this website. You can send notices to us at the email below.
